The course gender, inequality and exclusion is oriented to the learning of methods and technical of social investigation to realise an empirical description of the inequalities of gender, combining the quantitative and qualitative approximation, with the aim to purchase the necessary skills for the preparation of investigation on the inequalities of gender in thesis doctorales or other reports (for example, reports of impact of gender).

When concluding the asignatura, the people participants in the course will be able of:
· Differentiate and comprise the keys of the theoretical contributions more reseñables of the studies of gender, and in the theories on the development.
· Use theoretical and methodological criteria for the interpretation and critical understanding of the investigations on inequality and gender.
· Analyse to form critical and constructive the available statistical instruments for the measurement of the inequality of gender.
· Apply theoretical and methodological criteria for the design of investigations.
The course Inequality, Gender and Exclusion does not pretend an exhaustive study of the theoretical problems of each one of the fields to which the title alludes, but it proposes to understand the inequality of gender in the frame of the problems of the social inequality, attending besides to the inequalities that inevitably cross the category of the gender. It treats , especially, to offer to the students theoretical and methodological tools that allow them orient in the understanding and interpretation of the wide payroll of the theoretical contributions and of the empirical investigations more recent. The same tools, besides, that can use to comprise and value the diversity of measures that, from distinct instances, are elaborating with the purpose to finish with said inequalities, all those measures that fits to include under "politics of gender". In summary, in addition to the learning of knowledges, the course pretends to contribute to the students instruments of orientation that allow them adentrase in the studies on inequality and the studies of gender. Although the responsibility of the course is in hands of two professors, and the contents of the lessons to give are distinct, the course is conceived of a unitary form, so much in the definition of the contents that integrate it as in the educational methodology and the evaluation. The first part, although no exclusively, centres in greater measure in theoretical contents, whereas the second pretends to apply said contents to the investigation and to the analysis of the politics of gender.

Description of the materials
The activity consists in realising an analysis of impact of gender in the University of Alicante. Each student will choose one of the three main communities of the University: to) Alumnado, b) Profesorado and c) Personal of Administration and Services. The activity poses in several phases or sessions: 1) ¿What is a report of impact of gender? 2) quantitative Diagnostic. 3) qualitative Diagnostic. 4) Forecast of results (prognosis) 5) Assessment of the impact 6) Formulation of proposals.
