The course of Public Health and Social Work has has like purpose improve with a theoretical and practical knowledge, the professional actions of the/hard-working ace/social ace related with the health of the communities. In this sense, the course includes general contents on the basic foundations of the Public Health (introduction and own basic elements of this field of performance-investigation) and specific methodological tools (epidemiology, qualitative methodology), as well as appearances more specific related with the main problems of health of the general population and groups in situation of social vulnerability and the basic elements for the planning and development of interventions in health in the communities.

The aim of the studies of the asignatura of Public Health in the career of Social Work is to base with a theoretical and practical knowledge, the professional actions of the/hard-working ace/social ace related with the health of the communities. The frame in that it bills this aim, establishes it the own general aim of the profession of Social Work, that is the one to effect social changes, in the society in general, and in the individual forms of development inside the same.
The educational program of the asignatura of Public Health in social Work collects big part of the formative aims established in the White Book on Social Work of the Agency of Evaluation of the Quality (ANECA). Specifically, the formative aims more related with the competitions of the social workers in the area of Public Health are the following:
1. Capacity to work and value of conjoint way with people, families, groups, organisations and communities his needs and circumstances of health
2. Schedule, implement, review, and evaluate the practice of the Public Health in the Social Work with people, families, groups, organisations and communities and with other professionals
3. Support to the people so that they are able to manifest the needs, points of view, and circumstances of health
4. Act promoting the equity in the resolution of situations of vulnerability, conflict, crisis, lacks and hampered that affect to the health of the people
5. Administer and be responsible with supervision and support, of the practice of the Public Health inside the organisation in which it works
6. Show professional competition in the exercise of the Public Health in the Social Work.
Temario Of THEORY
First Part: Introduction to the Public Health
In this first block enters the concept of Public Health, recognises the health and the illness like result of the interaction of different factors, analysing the determinantes that influence in the inequalities in health.

In this second part of the asignatura analyse some of the main problems of health that affect to the population in his group, centring the attention in the one of some groups of population more disadvantaged.

Third Part: Intervention in health comunitaria
